What is optical filter?


An optical filter is a device that selectively transmits light of different wavelengths, usually implemented as a glass plane or plastic device in the optical path, which are either dyed in the bulk or have interference coatings.
Bandpass type filter glasses are useful for enhancing the signal-to-noise ratio of illumination systems, transmit a broad band of energy while blocking the shorter and longer wavelengths. As with all of Oplens's filter glasses, custom sizes are available upon request.
